Every December Łódź turns into the most eco-friendly city in Poland hosting the EcoMade Festival organized by the Strzemiński Academy of Art in Łódź.
The idea of the festival was conceived in response to the needs of contemporary societies living in urban agglomerations such as Łódź. The aim of the event is to make citizens aware that by adopting pro-environmental attitudes they become designers of their own surroundings.
EcoMade Festival celebrates eco-design. As well as being an invitation to discuss and exchange knowledge and experience, the festival provides space for an informational and promotional campaign teaching respect for every-day objects and, in longer perspective, encouraging pro-environmental behaviours.
Textile industry produces large amounts of leftovers but, unlike other secondary waste, their recycling is not promoted. In this context, Dekoma decided to engage in addressing the question of “How to use textile waste?” As the event’s sponsor we supplied textile leftovers to be used by the participants of EcoMade. We are pleased to announce that part of the exhibition in Łódź related to fabrics will be presented in our showroom.
